circled.club – Community & Participation
Community, Membership & Growth
circled.club is built as a membership-based community ecosystem for collaboration and shared responsibility.
Participation is open, contribution is valued, and growth is intentional.
Every person who joins circled.club starts at the same point —
with a Standard Membership and a verified account.
From there, members can grow in two complementary ways:
through support or through contribution.
Membership Levels – how support works
The platform is sustained through voluntary paid memberships, not advertising.
Members can choose to support the community financially by upgrading their membership.
This unlocks additional capabilities such as:
- Creating and managing Circles
- Publishing advanced content
- Initiating projects and programs
- Accessing extended moderation, space and organisation tools
Membership upgrades never replace community trust or contribution.
Reputation and influence grow through:
- Responsibility
- Capability
- Sustained positive participation
- And profile points earned over time
Paid membership supports infrastructure, development, and community care —
while points and participation determine trust, visibility, and progression.
Everyone can participate without paying.
Support accelerates growth — it does not replace contribution.
Roles & Responsibilities
circled.club operates with two clearly separated role systems:
1. Platform-level roles (membership-based)
Membership levels define platform-wide permissions and responsibilities.
These apply across the entire ecosystem.
Membership level determines what a member is allowed to do on the platform as a whole —
not how they must behave or participate.
2. Contextual roles (space-, circle-, or content-based)
In addition, local roles can exist within:
- Spaces
- Circles
- Projects
- Organisations
- Specific content contexts
These roles are:
- Limited to their specific context
- Defined by the space or circle administrator/author
- Independent from global membership level (within allowed permissions)
Contextual roles exist to support moderation, coordination and collaboration,
not hierarchy.
How roles are assigned
- Membership level grants platform-wide capabilities equal to each assigned level.
- Contextual roles are assigned or earned by trust within specific spaces or circles.
Roles are not labels or titles.
They are functional responsibilities — temporary, transparent, and accountable.
Points & Reputation – how contribution works
In parallel, circled.club uses a points-based reputation system.
Members earn points through:
- Meaningful contributions
- Constructive discussions
- Creating helpful content
- Supporting others
- Successful invitations of new members
- Participation in projects, Circles, or moderation
Points reflect trust, engagement, and positive impact — not popularity.
The intention of our leaderboard is to highlight trusted and consistently contributing members, fostering trust-based growth, visibility, and mutual support.
Over time, points can:
- Unlock new permissions
- Enable membership upgrades
- Qualify members for roles (e.g. moderation, stewardship, team participation)
- Increase the visibility and credibility of contributions within the ecosystem
- Build a foundation for future CTI-based rewards for impactful contributors
Growth is earned — not claimed.
Invitations – growing the community responsibly
circled.club grows through invitations, not mass acquisition.
Inviting someone is an act of responsibility:
- You vouch for the person
- You help shape the culture
- You contribute to community health
Each member has a monthly free invitation limits.
There are limited rewards for invitations.
Successful invitations are rewarded with points —
Because who joins matters as much as how many join.
We reward the invitee and inviter equal.
Invitations are not a growth hack —
They are a mechanism for cultural continuity.
circled.fans – support beyond participation
Some people want to support projects, creators, or initiatives without actively participating.
For this, circled.club integrates circled.fans:
- A structured way to support people and work you believe in
- Without ads, manipulation, or extractive platforms
- Each member has a limited number of free monthly fan nominations
- Nominated Fans are only visible to our community members.
- Once a nominated "Fan" receives 100 positive reviews/votes, they will be added to our circled.fans public space.
Fans strengthen the ecosystem by enabling others to focus on meaningful work — while remaining independent.
A living system, not a product
circled.club is not a marketplace for attention.
It is a living system for collaboration, learning, and shared responsibility.
You can:
- Stay small and observant
- Actively contribute and grow
- Support the ecosystem financially
- Or help steward the community itself
