circled.social Phase I Update: Scope & Role Definition Completed

As part of Phase I, we’ve completed the Scope & Role Definition milestone for circled.social.

This step clarifies the role of circled.social within the circled ecosystem — and just as importantly, its boundaries.

circled.social is being shaped as a public social feed layer:

• focused on presence, signals, and discovery
• separated from collaboration, governance, and project work
• designed to remain lightweight, readable, and restrained

Deeper collaboration, coordination, and long-term initiatives intentionally live inside circled.club, where structure and stewardship can be sustained over time.

Where we are now

With the scope defined, Phase I continues with a clear focus on structure before growth.

The next milestones address:

• structural cleanup and navigation clarity
• participation and moderation principles
• defining what belongs in public feeds — and what does not

These steps are essential to ensure that circled.social can function responsibly as a public interface without drifting into extractive or attention-driven dynamics.
